Could this be one of the greatest masters performances of all time ..?

It's only 15 seconds faster than the previous 43 yo best and Castille also ran 29:04, 13 days before his 45th birthday.
The 43 year old best was set 15 days before his 45th Birthday? Odd.
Did Castille ever run a 3:26 1500?

The previous 43 yo record best was 29:00 by Nelson Chirchir.

Dam, according to that list at 63 years old Ed Whitlock race a 35 min 10k.
This is awesome I agree. Not worth a 26:34 though!
He can run close to 28:00 on a flat course. Castille was way behind, no reason to think he is doping (although he might have some moral deficiencies?)
Jack Foster did pretty well at the marathon in his forties. Time will tell.

Not really - your first birthday is the day of your birth (duh), your second birthday is when you turn 1 year old, etc. So he had lived 43 years and 350 days and had 44 birthdays at that point.

Sounds about right, he also ran a 1:18:38 HM the same year in Toronto.
I'm lucky enough to have lived near him and we were entrants in many races together. I thought he had a very impressive period around age 69-70, showing that he didn't really slow down much from his early 60s to 70, which is very impressive. His ATB 30k in 1:57:39 at age 69 is incredible - it's a tough course with a few long, painful hills in the end stages. He also ran a few 5k races in 17:25 - 17:40 during this period.

I honestly get what you're saying, but 18-38 is a biiiig gap..maybe 18-28? 43 is another world from 25. Still incredibly strong, but the body is surely different.

Drew Hunter Vs B. Lagat over 1500/Mile in early August ...who wins ?
B. Lagat has long been a freak of nature and probably shouldn't be compared to any other human on earth .
Not sure what this be worth at 30 ... Hard to gauge , maybe a min faster - 27:45 on a fast road course
He ran 27:48 on the roads when he was 40...obviously he would have run a lot faster when he was 30.

EPO is one helluva drug.
It is worth 101%, slightly better than EdW's venerable 2:54 age 73. It converts to 3:53 mile age 40, 27:34 age 40 and 26:04 age 25.
So, definitely one of the top masters performances ever.
