"Old White Men that play basketball at the local YMCA in a College Jersey, eye goggles, knee pads, etc."
Absolute f***ing classic!! That gets my Post of the Day Award unless anyone beats it by 11:59 tonight.
I'm an elite triathlete and I can't stand most triathletes and runners and cyclists. Swimmers are great, typically, because they know how to have a good time and aren't uptight. most of you guys on this thread are f***ing pricks

However, the above statement is quite possibly one of the dumbest posts ever.
The whole concept of wholesale deals be it from a retailer or a regional/national distributor is that you purchase "at cost". i.e. at the same price the goods were purchased by the retailer/distributor. THEY MAKE ZERO RETURN FROM THIS. THEY DON'T MAKE MONEY at all. The idea is that the "sponsor" doesn't lose any money but the "sponsored" athlete doesn't pay any margin - the most optimal position for both parties.
This is most definitly a form of sponsorship. If you've ever been sponsored you would know that in most cases a company will not offer you cash straight off the bat. Initial sponsorship deals are "at cost" deals or similar, sponsorship is a matter of loyalty - you have to prove you are a worthy investment.
Oh my god you a f***ing retard, when a company gives you something "at cost," they are giving you the product for the same price they sell it to their retail accounts.
So if cannongay gives you a bike at wholesale, they are making the same god damn amount they would if they sold it to Ace's Tri-sexual headquarters.
I dont have a problem with gay people, you have to understand that calling people gay isnt saying "you male intercourser," gay has other meanings, like shithead, f***tard, asswhipe. Its just a good word.
Stop being so gay.

Does it have anything to do with being able to spell "wipe"? That's another good word.

You keep listing all these workouts. Go do a 20 mile run at 6 min pace or 20 x 400m or 8 x mile or something. Then we'll talk about what's more difficult.
Actually, I have "listed" one set (in swimming, unlike running, a workout is never just one set). If you just integrate heart rate over time, it is clear that swimming workouts include greater intensity and duration.
People here always talk about 100 mile weeks like it's something worth caring about. At the "6 minute pace" that you cite, this requires exactly 10 hours of work per week. Allowing a very slow 8 minute pace, you can still get in done in less than 14 hours.
There is NO SWIMMER worth anything who trains less than that.
Again, if you think that swimmers are chubby, you never associated with real swimmers, period. (There were chubby runners at my weekend 5k yesterday, but so what?)
Find photos of Spitz, Biondi, Rouse, Popov, Jager, whoever the f*** you like. They aren't chubby.
Everytime a triathlete is mentioned here, you guys bash him. Why?
Why suck at swimming and biking if you already suck at running?
You're jealous. Because it takes some strength and athleticism to be a triathlete.
No, it takes being average at three events to be a triathlete.
I don't think it's jealousy. Triathletes are seen as taking the easy way out; jack of all trades, master of none.
There is too much hype, it seems like triathletes are too worried about how many sponsors they can get. Send them a $1.00 off a foot long sub coupon and they will slap Subway's logo on their man bra and tell everyone they are sponsored. And another thing, getting gear for wholesale is not sponsorship, the company is still making money off you.

I thought it just takes a buttload of money to buy a bike, a wetsuit, a men's jogbra, and a bunch of other yuppie gear.
I am a distance runner, and I do think that Triathletes get bashed more than they should. Especially from all the "runners" who claim they are so much better at what they do, yet why is american distance running so bad????? If this board is filled with such elite athletes why havent I seen any international contenders? Just wondering.
Triathletes work as hard as we do in our sport. It is comparing apples to oranges. Who here that runs 100miles a week can drop to 60 miles a week, get on the bike 4 days a week, then get in the pool for a true workout there as well.
Vice versa, what triathlete can dedicate all their time to running as much as we do?
What does this board say about multis in track? Not good enough? I argue when the Olympic Heptathlon saw sub 2:15's in the top finishers in the 800m!!!!!!
keep fooling yourself.....YOU SUCKS IN ALL 3!!!
That was pretty funny...

BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING GAY!
It just hard for me to imagine doing the running part of a local triathalon in a speedo and a wife beater cut off, that's all!
