Currently, I am training for a sub 3 Marathon this October. I am following Daniels 2Q plan, 77-85mpw.
My recent races are: 5K in 18:00 (ran 17:30 last year) and Half-Marathon: 1:28:05 (w/ Achilles Tendinitis)
I'm 27 y/o, 5'8, 150 pounds.
Right off the bat, I struggled with the workouts. Specifically, maintaining T pace for over 3 miles. When I do finish with T pace and need to go back to Marathon pace or Threshold after a break including Easy pace for a distance/duration, I am pretty much exhausted and unable to complete the workout. I noticed it is getting easier week by week and my body is handling the mileage very well. I just seem to struggle in sustaining pace for over a longer duration. Is there anything I can do to improve this or will it improve from my marathon training block? I can run 2-3 hours no problem at a slower pace, endurance is there but my speed is not steady.
