Distance running doesn't have a lot of upsets but that was one for sure. I figured Lopez' best days are behind him and the 10k is not his event but he dusted Kipchirchir that last lap. Great run.
Race was slow, unheraled Reed Fisher of Tinman Elite was pushing but slowing, and it came down to final lap and Lopez went 54.17, in the heat of Des Moines. Kipchirchir ran 55.55 and Elkanah Kibet 60.98..

I was rooting for Garret Heath. The heat must of got to him. Heath looks like he has loss some weight.
