Marathon Liars! Especially about Boston!

It's the hobby joggers who lie because anyone else knows true runners are obsessed with results stalking. It's big dumb.

Haven't you heard? You don't need to qualify anymore. All you need is either a lot of money or the ability to raise a lot of money. These people have precedence over the people who actually do qualify.

In Mr. Ryan's defense, over the years he probably improved his endurance after the 4:00 debacle and probably ran under 7:00 pace during shorter races or training runs. He most likely was confident that he could maintain that pace for a full 26 miles but never got around to entering another marathon.

A man doesn't become a congressman without a hefty self-confidence in his ability.

It gets worse. There is a woman in my running club who although claims she made the Boston standard, she was not far enough under it to get in the past two years. She explains this as she posted selfies on Facebook of her wearing the 2018 Boston Marathon jacket she recently purchased on sale from Adidas. Even though she didn't run the race, she felt she earned the jacket because she had qualified. I don't get it. Why make a big deal about buying a race jacket for a race you didn't run.

When people realize I'm running Boston they often ask me where I qualified for Boston. Then they think I'm lying when I say at Boston. I'm not sure if they think that isn't allowed or think no one is fast enough to do that.

Let me tell you, I ran the Boston marathon in 1 hour. Ok. Believe me.

It was the fastest marathon ever. Nobody has ever run a faster marathon.

If I didn't have very painful bone spurs, I would have broken 1 hour. Trust me.
