Gold is soft.
Back in the day people would bite coins to make sure they weren't counterfeit.
But you wouldn't bite silver or bronze.
It looks pretty stupid, I mean what is the point? Oh how funny... we know it isn't pure gold.
Not sure, but I look forward to the day someone chips a tooth biting theirs on live tv.
It is annoying as hell when hobby joggers do this with their participation medals.
