Yet another star of the sport to no show at the national championships
I want to see the stars perform.
However from a $$$ perspective I can't blame her. I've heard talk of her getting 7 figures a YEAR.
Yet I think there's a chance Kendall Ellis beats her here in the 400. (And Irby beat Ellis at USAs) So don't do anything to diminish your brand until its signed and dotted.
The Stars should act like Star tennis players. It's up to NBC to pay her to be there . Business is a 2 way street. Good for her.

Can't act like star tennis players when there are only 20 people in the stands. Our governing body needs to be run by entrepreneur personality types, not politician types. Runners are the worst when it comes to marketing the sport.
Has to be contract negotiations. She posted a cooking video with her teammate today. Hilarious!

I understand your point from a money perspective. However, if Sydney is worried about tarnishing her brand, she shouldn't have entered an event where there's a chance she'd lose. In fact, she could have really ENHANCED her marketability with a dominant win in her primary event, the 400m-hurdles, ESPECIALLY in a year that Muhammad decided to sit out. Missed opportunity, in my opinion, if money is truly the reason Sydney decided to skip.

USATF tweeted that she pulled out with tightness in her quad after warming up.
Remove the Steeple,5k and 10k . takes too long to watch on tv.
Someone posted this link on the Track&FieldNews messageboard http://www.letsrun.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/Screenshot-2018-06-21-at-11.33.05.png

Not a good way to start your pro career...obviously I am not buying the tightness in her quad story. It takes years of accomplishments to build a strong fan base, but only a few stunts like this before people turn against you.

Stop the madness. No one is racing that much this year. It's an off year, and athletes are treating it as such.
USAs are not important this year.

Must be nice to have the choice to not run but I wonder if she'd toe the line if she was living paycheck to paycheck.

Seems like I just see a few minutes of each so not sure where that comes from.
I wish all our best were going for a National title here, but the fact is that so far most of the top people haven't been competing.
Look at the men's 10000m for a good example. Lopez Lomong, whose title days seemed behind him, beat a couple of good runners but many of our top guys weren't there.

Obviously. The people at the USA champs are the ones making pennies. Maybe getting 30k a year at most. All the stars are at home relaxing. Getting ready to go overseas and make money.

Maybe she is interested in being a runner and not fap material for you.
