I struggle most days to get anything done . The burn out has also affected my life outside of work.

Dawg are you burnt out?
how about u needa vacation go sit about and catch a trout no doubt instead of sit and POUT like a LOUSE.
-drops the mic- im out
Yup.
This is normal. Work sucks until the day you retire. Take a vacation . Start taking some night classes to get into a different field.
Nope not at all
Yes, every day. Teaching 7th graders. Sucks pretty much every day. Entitled, loud mouthed brats. Too many years in to get out, sadly.
Hear you, but you get the summer off. I get 3 weeks.
Whoah, the hypnotist is FDR on Seinfeld. The hypnotist later in the scene does exactly what he tells Kramer.
I try not to think about what work I didn't do
no, and i can't figure out why i don't retire already when i have more than enough packed away and could do so easily.
I don't dread work, but it's not like i love it, either.

Likely flagpole posting above...
OP, here's something more useful. Yes, it happens. Been there. Recently in fact. Take it less seriously. It's never worth taking work home or letting it affect your sleep. Never lose sleep over a job. Ever.
in middle of 4 month vacation, was absolutely done with my job. Going back for 1 more year and then who knows.....
A lot of jobs suck from the start
most suck after 10 years
Don't get yourself into too much debt so that you can escape/change careers at that 10 year mark if needed
for me the question now is "at 39 is it worth it going back into debt to change careers?"
i've accomplished most of what i've wanted career wise so might explore some 'no-skill' jobs just for the fun of it. Life is short. Always kind of wanted to work on a ferry and just cruise on a boat all day. Or brewing beer. Sounds more rewarding than what i do now. And after 40 you have the freedom that you can stop kidding your self that 'doing something with your life' is career related, and just do what you want.
unless you have kids
then you are screwed
