So I usually run 6 days a week and take a day off on Sunday due to some past bad experiences with running 7 days a week. In the past when I used to run 7 days a week I would always end up hurt, but today I just felt too good and decided to go for quick run. Do you think that a 20 minute shakeout Run on the treadmill at 8:20/mi pace would help me recover better than taking a day off. In the past when I ran 7 days a week I would always run around 7:20/mi pace on the pavement for my “recovery” jogs on Sundays. But would shortening the run to 20 minutes, on a treadmill, at 8:20 pace help me recover without increasing injury risk?
My PRs are 5:02 1600 and 10:59 3200 btw.
