I'm going to be a senior in high school this year, and I want to make a huge jump over the Summer. Although I'm bummed as far as my social life goes, I've got a ton of time to train and focus on running now that I'm grounded for the rest of Summer(crashed my car).
Right now my PR for 5k is 16:50 and my mile PR is 4:35. The summer before junior year I maxed out mileage at 35 or so, and over this winter might have gotten up to the 40s. Never more than 25 or 30 in season. My goal is to run about 15:40 or so if that's possible, which I believe it is.
So, given hilly terrain nearby, access to a gym, a pool, and an endless supply of time with no obligations every day, what would you do to take the most benefit going into your last year of cross country? I want all-state bad, and I'll do anything– I just want to be confident in doing it. Thank you!!
