I'm surprised more athletes from India don't come to the NCAA system. There are actually some decent athletes there and a lot of talent to be discovered.

Vikas Gowda was at UNC when I was there. 4x Olympian and NCAA champ in the discus in the mid-2000s.
True, but Gowda grew up in Maryland and went to high school in the US. He was quarterback of his high school football team.
Indian collegiate athletes are pretty rare except in tennis
There is a runner from India on the Cal team.
There are some good Indian-American runners, but that's different than growing up in India.

Why is this a big deal? Would he get attention if he were from Lichtenstein? Oh wait. We get it. PC...
That'd be even more impressive. It's a very small country.
It does seem like a statistical anomaly that given the populations there aren't more Chinese and Indian nationals competing among the ranks of the NCAA.

You calling rojo PC? Really Bro?
Indians are notoriously unathletic. Lichtenstein not necessarily.

As an Indian dude, I second this. One would think, in a region of 1.4 billion people, we'd have some good athletes, but there haven't been all that many, so it's genuinely surprising to see that an Indian guy won something.
Might be a freshman from Indiana that wins NCAA high jump next year. The state champ this year jumped 7' 4". Nate Patterson from Plymouth, Indiana. Will be going to USC next year (the California USC).
The moron who called Rojo PC is in a special class; I'm sure he rode on a special bus.

There sure a lot of Chinese and Indian students in the USA, especially in the grad school programs. Without them, some grad school programs wouldn't exist.

Indians are very good in Cricket. As long as India beat Pakistan they're happy! Australia and New Zealand tend to be the best in the world.

Agreed, I was at the state meet, he had 3 very good attempts at 7-6.25 as well, very good high jumper.
Surprised there are more South Asian people on here. As a Sri Lankan (American) woman, I sometimes wonder if I am the only one of my demographic on this website.
No, I didn't know that.
That's not a cold sore bro it's a shanker.
