That was a great run by Nigeria, they played to win, but the attacking play by Argentina was too much for them in the end.
They are a very young, and they will grow from this experience. Once that midfield evolves, and they learn how to keep and stay on the ball, that is when their offensive prowess will able to shine.
Victor Moses will now get some much needed rest so that he will be ready for the upcoming season for Chelsea.
Senegal is africa's only hope. Let's go.
I thought France was Africas only hope?
This joke was never funny.

Messi's ball control on that goal was absolutely nuts. He has a brilliant first touch with his thigh on a long ball, controls it perfectly with the foot of the same leg to place it gently on the ground in front on him and away from the defender, and then his next touch is the goal-scoring kick strongly and precisely towards the opposite post. Insane control and finish. Only Messi.
Just watched the highlights of Iceland-Croatia. Iceland had an insane number of chances, but I guess when you don't have the best quality of players, they struggle to finish. Croatia showed that by taking advantage of their chances and driving them home.
Nice touch honorable mention
75th minute and Germany is on the verge of crashing OUT of the World Cup
Sweden up 3-0 on Mexico
Germany scoreless with South Korea
If this stays the same, Germany is out and Sweden wins the Group with Mexico second.
So far, WOW.
Germany needs (another) last minute miracle.
Oh. My. God.
Germany has crashed out of the 2018 World Cup before the knockout stage.
Unprecedented for Germany to go out at the group stages, funny too
This is the worst performance since World War II for the Germans.
What is up with the thread title?
Germany deserved to go out. Didn't play well in any of the games. Incredible that they left Sane at home. What a terrible decision.
Sweden also deserved to win the group. Sweden were robbed against Germany when Boateng committed an obvious red card/penalty tackle that the referee (and VAR) inexplicably ignored.
Germany was just too slow on defense and offense during this WC. The lack of speed really hurt their team, and not being surgical with their chances. Also not putting Leroy Sane on the team came back to haunt them in a big way.
Soccer has evolved, and all teams are pressing with great pace, and immediately getting on an attacking foot. Even small countries, that used to just be happy with being in the WC, are not sitting back or just parking the bus. They are playing forward, and they are not afraid to play against the big countries.
The same thing happened to France back in 2010, and they had to rebuild from the bottom. They brought in some youth, got faster and stronger, and now they have a great young team and the future looks bright. Germany will have to go through that same process, especially in the next 2 years, because the Euro Cup is right around the corner.
Lol, Germany. What a choke job. And can anybody comment on why Mexico got thrashed?
Both of these games were trap games for Germany and Mexico. South Korea and Sweden both looked tough and were not pushovers, and had a lot to play for in their last group game (Sweden to advance and South Korea to salvage some pride and pull off an upset). Can't wait to watch the highlights when I get home.
Brazil-Serbia might be a trap game for Brazil. Serbia has looked tough and can get through if they win, while Brazil has had trouble scoring goals.

Just parking the bus - haha, like this one!

It was not a "trap game" for Germany. They KNEW they needed a result and they couldn't get it.
lets get the title of this thread back on track.
England v Belgium is going to be a big one. Really pumped up for that.

Why? Both teams have 6 points. Both teams have the same goal differential. The other two teams have zero points so both England and Belgium are already through. The only thing to play for is top of the group. Both teams should get an easy team in their first knockout round.

That game is either going to be really, really big or a chess match.
Players from both teams know each other. All the English players play in the Premier League, and most of the top Belgium players play in the Premier League. There will be no surprises, and each team will know how to attack and defend each other. Even both GKs play in the Premier League.
Belgium:
Eden Hazard and Courtois ( Chelsea) KDB ( Man City) Lukaku( Man United), Fellani ( Man United), Mitchy( Chelsea , but loan in germany) , Company ( Man City, ), Vertonghen ( Spurs)
English Squad : Liverpool, Man City, Man United, Les City, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Everton
Just another Premier League game ...lol
