... but hate how much extra time it makes running take. Either because of dilly dallying or having to wait for someone who is late etc. An hour of running ends up taking 90 mins
Anyone else have this problem?

Just seems you like running over people, hehe,
... well okay, when I was young we had this sprinter guy, he had in fact good stamina but was too lazy to go for long runs, but he joined us 800 m runners at 200 m intervals, and he was always talking and procrastinating and holding us back, but in the end he decided he should quit training and running all together, but at the next session he was in the wardrobe, and I said, "but Bjarne I thought you were done with athletics", and he just looked at me, and followed us out, and after the warmup (which he skipped), he stood ready at the 200 meter stretch (wintertime-intervals), we ran 200 meter, rested and then ran 200 meter back to where he was standing, and I asked again what he was doing and he smiled, and said, "I just love the rest between intervals".
People are people, get used to it!
Rests ARE the interval ?

Enjoyed the story. And, you may be right. But it's mostly a pain in the morning for me when if I had my druthers I'd start running at 6:30, but people want to meet up at 7, which turns into waiting until 7:10 and then I have 20 minutes before I need to get ready for work. I'm whining, I know. But that's what the internet is for!
