Long story long I need to decide whether or not I will be doing XC for my team this season.
We have a required number of practices to attend if we are to be on the team, and due to my college courses I am taking this summer, this would be difficult to impossible.
My coach is trying to help me out by allowing me to do weights as a replacement for practice, but I cannot do this because of the job that I work.
Doing it Pros:
1. Get to remain on the team
2. Possibly be a key piece to my team making state this year for the first time in 4 years
3. Get to spend time with teammates
4. Coach will not hate me
Doing it Cons:
1. Costs $120 (money I do not currently have)
2. I have already bought my XC sweats
3. I will have to either a) quit my job or b) drop out of the college courses
NOT doing it pros:
1. I will have time to do college and my job so I can get my drivers' license
2. I will get to run a few meets unattached and have real fun in doing so
3. I get to write my own schedule, which sounds fun to me
4. I will get to run steeplechase this summer, which my coach doesn't want me doing
NOT doing it cons:
1. I will have to take 1 course at the high school next semester
2. Track will be awkward
3. I may train myself inefficiently
4. My teammates and coach may get mad at me if we do not make state (we have many seniors this year)
Please help, this is a stressful decision and I need input
