That female collegiate runners are capable of deciding what type of bottoms to wear all by themselves without help from the men of Letsrun.

Oregon hasn't been doing well as of late. Go Pilots/Cardinal/Crimson Tide/Buffaloes. Oh, and say what you want about D2, but we all know that the RMAC schools are OP.
Agree with this. They're recent men's distance success was basically put on the back of Edward Cheserk. Without him, their XC and track teams weren't anything special.
With that said, they're returning all their guys from their 6thplace xc team and they'll be pretty good, although NAU/Portland/BYU/Stanford are collectively only losing 5 seniors........

Tired of hearing about there being no competition in the elite ultra world. I watched NCAA champs last week, and there was a noticeable lack of depth of talent in almost every race. Where's the competitive depth? It's not there. Just like the ultra world.

Which of those last-to-the-show qualifying times do these mythic ultra-beards have?
There's more athletic depth at my daughters 12 year old soccer game than at an ultra event.
Running a sub-5 mile is really freaking hard.

Using 12 year old girls soccer teams to make your ultra point is insulting to 12 year old girl soccerplayers.
A trail marathon is easier than a road marathon.
East Africans do not have more distance running talent than Americans or Europeans. East African countries are drawing from a larger population pool of people interested in running, so their best runners are better than our best runners. Even though they have smaller total populations, they have more non-overweight people who are not distracted by other sports, and so pursue running.
I don't care if track and field is popular as a spectator sport.

Keeping a good stride (especially as you age) is far more important than cadence.
What does this even mean?
Studies have indicated that older runners tend to maintain turnover, but lose stride length. Thus, while cadence will tend to look after itself, stride length, a function of power and mobility, take more work.

YES. Reminds me of Kara Goucher or Donald Trump. She has her followers who are loyal fans but has about a 35% approval rating but believes it is 85%.
Most who post here have never broken 19 in 5K or sub 3:00 in a marathon, but come here to call people hobby joggers.
Anything above a 10k is unnatural and harmful for your body.
I find r/running a more informative place than letsrun for all things running
