I feel like this is constructive, feel free to move it to the new week's thread if that works better.
So is what you are saying someone is better off doing 150 minute runs at a moderate effort every week vs something like 5 x 2 miles w/ 800 meter float at marathon pace? I think the 5 x 2 mile can do just as much for building the "aerobic house" as the moderate 20. I guess I don't see how fast long runs and marathon pace variations are going against building the aerobic house, as both are high end aerobic work. And also, the Canova fast long run is more or less a Lydiard-esque run in itself.
Not at all trying to be disagreeable, just trying to learn. Let's keep this going.
