Selemon Barega is the next great 5000m superstar, if you ask me. Especially now Jacob Kiplimo appears to be plateauing. I would love to see him race Kenyan hope Stanley Waithaka. I hope they both run the U20s.

Was that an American record for Ben True for races held with 80° plus temperatures? Nice run. Plus it was windy.
Chelimo's 13:08 at USA's last year?
World leader for Barega. He and Balew just stayed pretty much the same distance apart the full final 100m

The question for me however is why did Ahmed finish in lane 3???
Look at this:
No one in front of him and he's in lane 3? Heat was affecting everyone. True might have made him go wide on turn to get around but surprised to see him in 3.
Now that he has proven that he can run fast in the heat I hope he gets after it in Des Moines but I predict he will run a sit and kick pvssy race like Justyn Knight

Chelimo probably will bring it so True will have to decide.

Here's the incredible long jump by Juan Miguel Echevarría
Women's 1500 is here.
200 big question is whether Steven Gardiner is seriously injured as he pulled up lame. He had world leader in 400 until Norman's run at NCAAs.

1000 is always entertaining for me for some reason

Amazing race from Tsegay. What an improvement.
goes out in 59 or so. doped to the gills i suspect.
Glad the announcers are blasting the horrible pace making we've seen this year but that's impressive Tsegay was still able to hold on and run that time
That was nuts!!! 59.96. Was that the first time a women's 1500 has gone out sub 60 even if it was just the rabbit?

I feel like I should be fairly impressed by Rotich closing in 26.low off of 1:48.76 but the 1k is so rarely run I don't know how to feel about that.
Cram and Hutchings has to be the most entertaining announcing duo in T&F. So many random exchanges along the lines of:
H: My colleague won this race in 1983.
C: Weren't you also in that race?
H: ...finishing several seconds back I believe.
Ramil Guliyev stamping his authority in the 200. Hopefully, he gets down to below 19.5 this year.
They may need to extend the long jump pit.
If he hadn't of slipped back a little once he landed - WR?

???
How quickly we forget. In this race below, the whole field was through the 400m below 60 (not just the rabbit). The leader went through 300 in 42.6 ( No level of drugs would do that, but starting at the wrong line or running on a short track or having bad timing equipment would do that) That's 56.8 pace btw.
Enjoy...

I enjoy every time i hear those guys. For the major championships track needs a studio show like fox does for the world cup. Bunch of analysts sitting back and relaxing (a few drinks deep in some cases I think) and just discussing and arguing over the days events. Always wildly entertaining.
how far behind did Henrik finish in the 5k?
did he run around afterward as if he won?

Yes, we need more age cheats!
Impressed today by clean WR holder Muir. Some other fun events too.
