I'm back at SFO - the airport that famously "doesn't believe in fast food" - and I'm feeling rebellious and am actually eating at Burger King as we speak.
The value meal at BK is 11.99 but I'm quite happy with it. They even sell beer at Burger King but I think that's like an extra $5 if you want it.
I ordered the Double Sourdough King Bacon meal. My bill was $13.30.
I was thinking to myself, "Man that's a tone of sales tax - more than 10% or did she secretly upcharge me?" So I take a look at the receipt.
There is a line that says "2% Employee B" on it for 24 cents.
Then another line of 8.75 Tax.
I ask what is the 2% thing and she explains to me that all places at SFO charge it and it's for the employees health insurance. She apologized for the fee. I told her if it's for health insurance I'm all for it.

PS. Are you all aisle or window people? If no one is on the plane, I prefer a window as you can look out and also sleep if it's a redeye (like this one is), but I hate waking people up to go to the bathroom on an overnight flight. So I'm in the aisle and happy as they switched me to an exit row.
PPS. If you missed my experience at this airport a few days ago, catch up here:
