That is the ugly slippery slope that you risk tumbling down when you accept the idea of gender choices. You are going to be condoning dangerous and uncertain therapies and surgeries in order to accommodate and thus exacerbate what might otherwise be a relatively mild mental illness (or desire for eccentric "sexual" pleasures). Thus you render this possibly transitory illness a permanent trauma.
nah, transgender hormone therapy, if that is truly the route they want to take, is fairly standardized these days. Even primary care providers (MD/PA/NP) can be trained in a matter of weeks to manage, with some back up from endoncrinology, transgender hormone therapy. Perhaps trickier with adolescents than adults.
