before the season started there was a lot of talk about her running the short hurdles. what happened to that? that would have been the event to double up in as a 400 hurdler.
events she could potentially have entered:
Satuday 3:32 PM Women 4x100 M Relay Final Start List Result Scheduled
Saturday 4:12 PM Women 100 M Hurdles Final Start List Result Scheduled
Saturday 4:22 PM Women 100 M Final Start List Result Scheduled
Saturday 4:32 PM Women 400 M Final Start List Result Scheduled
Saturday 4:57 PM Women 400 M Hurdles Final Start List Result Scheduled
Saturday 5:07 PM Women 200 M Final Start List Result Scheduled
Saturday 5:51 PM Women 4x400 M Relay Final Start List Result Scheduled
so with the 400h and 4x4 you can only really run the 4x1/100h/or 100
400/200/4x4 would be possible but that's less recovery time for the 4x4, tougher competition, and she's not quite as good at those events
i'm not sure if she's on the 4x1 but if so that seems like about the most she should be doing. if not, I might have considered rolling the dice with her in the 100 (but is anyone really not on their team's 4x1 but making the 100 final???). i'm sure the thinking is towards long-term success of course and not maximizing points at NCAA outdoor.
also interesting to point out:
Keturah Orji (who won the LJ) jumped 20'8.75" in HS (#2 AT NJ)
Sydney jumped 20'7.25" in HS
the real way to maximize points would have been to throw her in LJ on prelim day, where she doesn't have to run all that fast, and then 4x100 400h 4x400 on finals day.
