I don't follow baseball and I guess this happened yesterday, so how did he do?
Wish I knew!
Did they leave already?
Someone find this. Did he bounce it?

Incorrect.

How did no one find this?
Here it is:
https://www.facebook.com/260571864709/videos/10156436889304710/Can someone now find the videos of people like Desi and Meb throwing out first pitches and do an extensive analysis?
Bill Rodgers still gets called out for the first pitch for the Bosox to this day.
I'd love to get the chance to do this just to surprise the catcher with a slider into the nutsack.
People love to goof on Rupp, but his pitch was decent. There are many many examples of terrible first pitches out there, but this isn't one of them.

Agreed. I'm not a fan, but this was a solid effort. Thanks, Galen, for not embarrassing us runners.
Man I would be practicing my butt off all week for something like that. And then ask the catcher if it’s cool to rip one in there.
Good for Galen, that looks fun; and it’s one more moment reminding the American sports-wild public that running is a thing.
Lol, lame. There wasn't even a batter...
Meh, that was weak and not straight over the plate. Very anti-climatic. At least he smiled and looked like he enjoyed himself.
Ok. I've found Desi and Meb's first pitches as well.
You can compare the three here.
My take. It's exactly the same as their running career. Rupp may have the technically superior performance (it's hard to tell with Meb as the angle is from the front and Rupp and Desi's pitches are very off by similar amounts - Rupp is high and inside, Liden low and away) but the connection with the crowd and emotion drawn by Meb and Desi is way greater.
Re. Meb: What the hell kind of throw was that?!
still the greatest first pitch of all time. put the politics aside for a moment.

All three actually did pretty well. At least better than I expected.

WTF are you talking about? Do you not have eyes? Or do you just know nothing about how to throw a baseball? By far (and it's not even close), Rupp's pitch was the best. Who gives a rats ash about connecting with the crowd? Linden throws like a girl and she wasn't even on the mound, they had to move her up to even come close to the catcher. Meb's pitch was even worse than Linden's. FERFUKSAKES he holds the ball with five fingers! This guy SUCKS.

It looks like Rupp threw it from the mound. The other two may have been a little closer.

good athletes are coordinated. runners usually aren't as coordinated. of course, there are exceptions.
just trust me on this one and don't make me give examples
I disagree that runners aren't coordinated. They may not be coordinated in the typical sense of American sports (basketball, baseball, football) that require good hand eye coordination. However, there is an extremely high amount of coordination required JUST to run; the more coordinated you are in your running motion, the more efficient of a runner you will be. I guarantee that running specific coordination plays a huge role in the success of elite runners ranging from Usain Bolt to Galen Rupp.

Was actually about to look for this. Yes, this was absolutely incredible. Love the Jeter part of the story, too.
