Tyler Day has caught up at 1350 meter mark. Now it's three Kenyans and three white dudes.
Will the Kenyan guys go home devastated?
So Kiprop went 60.94, 64.56, 66.74, 69.43 and 72.00 on his first 5 laps whereas Day ran much more even - 63.03, 66.17, 65.01, 67.86, 71.89.
I thought we'd learned in the modern era to never make a big sudden move and they did it in the first 200. Day ran really smart and pulled a Mo Farah and gradually responded.
If anyone kept up with d2 stuff last year, they know kiprop is the real deal. He goes out hard and it keeps it hard. Like a robot
If they give him too much space they aren’t going to be able to make it up.. because they’ll probably be dying just as hard as kiprop
What is under the the bibs of the Alabama guys?
Watching day and baxter run is a thing of beauty. Those guys just bring it. If they had green on , this crowd would be going bonkers.
By the way there are 4 BYU guys in this race. But you see why NAU won in xc - big time firepower up front.
Portland PIlot fans, how many individuals do you have here? It's amazing they got 2nd in xc.
14:15.9 at 10k. Meet record is 28:01.

US Army applications
FYI. It's 70 degrees and the wind is 11 mph out of the west, which is the direction you want it out of as the big stands (the West Grandstands are the ones by the finish) blocks it.

Dumb comment, if giving him space will result in them dying just as hard, not giving him space would have a worse result.
Looks like all but 1 byu guy has dropped by halfway. So weak.

2 guys under 29 and 3 under 29:20 this year. Isn’t that pretty standard for a 2nd place team?
Lead pack is down to with 9 laps to go. We have lappage and the BYU runner is now running the whole thing in lane 2 as a courtesy. Hes' one of the biggest toe strikers I've ever seen.
Kiprop really wants to get to the front -- 29.x first 200, 60.94 at 400. And they already have a three-second lead at 800. 2:05.4 at 800.
Day leading chase pack. Day has caught them and latched on by 1400 meters, so has thomson, baxter, and green as the Alabama guys have slowed down.
Now by 2k it’s a huge group up front, mostly single-file with the Alabama guys still 1-2-3 (kigen leading)
Kiprop has fallen back to mid-pack by 3200 (9:07ish)
NAU guys to the front at 3600. Just like XC, it’s Day and Baxter.
At 4400, there are 15 guys single-file in the lead pack. Day and Baxter 1-2, Alabama 3-6-7
14:15.9 at halfway, nine guys in the lead pack.
NAU guys trading off the lead.
14:15:9 at 5k auto corrected.
No record @ 70 degrees
Thank you,
M.A.G.A...
What spikes are the leaders wearing?
8 laps to go at 19:27.
Baxter is no longer in 2nd. It's Day and then Kiprpop then Ben Flangan of Michigan. Baxter is 4th. Lead pack is down to 7 with 7 laps remaining as the 2 other labama kenyans are gone.
And it may be turning into a 3 man race as the top 3 keep trying to pull clear.
Calling it now
Only 1 alabama all america
I was working and just tuned in on lap 9. Caught the highlight reel of everything else up to it. Commerical break now. Runners being lapped- Day looks good. What’s the weather like?
They basically ran 8 straight 69 laps (some were slightly faster) and then ran a 70 and now 2 straight 71s.
24:10.55 with 4 laps to go.
Then a 70.7 with 3 laps to go.
