Is Joe Rogan the best journalist/interviewer of our times?

Stern is a gimmicky creep. He sucks and is always looking to make fun of his geusts and dive into vulgarity. Dude is a srs creep

I love Rogan and listen to him daily on my run back from work. The diversity of guests he gets is great because sometimes I want to learn something new but other times I might want to just listed to him get high and talk to his friends. I generally skip the MMA ones altogether.

As an interviewer he sometimes has trouble where he can be convinced of basically anything. His ignorance on many topics is good because he can ask questions the ordinary person would have, but it also lets him be led down a path to whatever conclusion the guest might be pushing.

Starting as a blank slate is also good because he has nothing at stake. He can change his mind.

The super long format is the greatest strength as it means a guest can't survive on just talking points.

Who is Joe Rogan?

Nowhere does it say you need to be smart or educated to be a great interviewer. For example, Tucker Carlson of FOX News went to Trinity College, which here in CT is considered basically a private community college.

I think that he plays up his lack of knowledge a little.

There is no way that you bring the level of guests that he brings in without doing a little internet search before the interview

What is good is that he brings experts and let's the experts talk instead of pretending that he is knowledgeable about the topic, which is what a lot of interviewers/journalists do. The reality is that a journalist will have anecdotal knowledge about a topic at best, which is why he/she needs to bring in the expert. Then you let the expert talk, which is what a lot of interviewers forget, but not Joe.

I don't know whether to laugh at the stupidity of the question or cry because he really would do a better job than many of the people the news networks put out there.

I listened to a few of his podcasts because he does get great guests. But he fricken drove me crazy with how ignorant he is.

I switched to Tim Ferriss because he also gets really good guests, but he seems like less of an idiot.

He's not a journalist. He's a host and is smart enough to keep things interesting but isn't too smart to alienate the masses. Also pretty charismatic.

Good, diverse guests add to his appeal.

If you take what it at face value -- entertainment with some learning, an adult Sesame Street, if you will -- it's pretty good.

Wow. 2.5 hours with his guests? How often is the podcast? I understand he is one of the most popular podcasters in the world.

I was asking a guy what he wanted to see on LetsRun and he said "more podcasts". I asked him what sort of format he wanted and he said, "copy Joe Rogan".

I just watched the first 5 minutes of the Candace Owens podcast. Seemed fine to me.

Then I went to my bank last week to get something notarized and the guy was asking me about LetsRun and then he started asking me about 2 ultra marathoners I had never heard of. He said he knew of them because of Joe Rogan. Have any other runners been on there?

This must be one of them because the youtube comments describer her as a beer drinking, nacho eater which is what the guy at the bank said.
