Road and track runners are poison.
Hey guys it was a good run but let's not get crazy here. Zach can't run sub 15 for a flat 5k let alone close out a 50 that fast. I ran there and this segment was more like 2.5-2.6 Miles downhill so no where near 15 min for 5k but still good for ultra guy. Can easily be debunked on strava as Hayden didn't run even 18 min pace for last 5k and just lost by a tad bit to Zach. This is old news, fake news on the sub 15.
Rough on the volunteer coach. I think the thing you need to understand is that the competitive runner and the ultra runner are just different. My friend that wins 100 milers is kind of a sh**ty runner.
Is this guy famous?
Somebody get that man an inhaler.
He can run at top level for that distances. Whatever that means.
The fact is he was 8th in the world championship a few weeks ago over half an hour behind the winner.
My guess is any top level marathoner with a decent transition period would destroy any top level ultra runner.
But people is free to sing up for the races they want. Or not?
Anyone can sign up for Berlin Marathon and face the best in the world. Is it the same for ultras?
I’ve got to believe if the 50was an Olympic event he would win gold for the USA . He passed those last 4 runners like they were standing still. They didn’t even try to go with them, could do nothing but cheer. That’s DOMINANCE .

Sage canady beat two 2:14 marathoners at the lake 50 sonoma run last year. They tried an ultra trail and lost.
He is barely running.
Zero knee lift. Zero heel lift.
I’d say it looks like 6:30 pace at best.
Also, he is getting assistance from his cameraman/bike pacer telling him where other runners are. Obvious DQ.
Finally, collapsing to the ground? Please. This isn’t girls’ cross-country is it?

WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU KEEP THAT PACE AFTER 50 MILES AND ON TRAIL. Youre just a keyboard warrior
This is not 2016.
Nice. What I can only assume is a bunch of Miller's RIT friends sure do a great job of making him and RIT look unfavorable (perhaps friends should be in quotes, I doubt Miller would appreciate them defending him in such a way).
My petty response is to not even bother watching the video and and assume that all of his accomplishments are less than spectacular and more about nice marketing and hoaky publicity. I'm probably right and no one will or should care what I think.

So your telling me the guy with camera is easily running along sub 5 minute pace talking and filming?
The heavy over produced breathing, doesn't make sense , your full of it.

He was only running for the last .2 miles you dolt
I know the guy was exhausted and digging deep, but I feel like the heavy breathing was little over the top. But I guess you gotta ham it up for the camera

I geuss you wouldnt huff after 50 miles of running hard lol
One thing about Zach is that he is built like a tank compared with most distance guys.
He looks like he could do a ton of pullups.
Agree about the low knee lift.
What is his best thon ?
I am guessing in the 2.27-2.32 range ?
His wife or g.f. loves him !
