People talk about making our sport more popular all the time. One thing that drives me nuts is how there can be a tie in a track meet. Why? We don't allow ties in any other championship, why do we do it in track? The whole point of a championship is to declare a national champion not co-champions.
So what do you think should be the best to break the tie is?
To me, whoever finishes higher in the 4 x 400 is the obvious answer. The issue then is, "What happens if neither team is in the 4 x 400?"
If that happened, then I'm open to some ideas - you could make them run a 4 x 400 with whoever they have at the meet (if they have less than 4 people (extremely unlikely) then someoene would have to run 2 legs themslves or maybe just give it to the team with the most scorers.
