The citizen's race is way less competitive than it used to be. I finished in the same exact place that I did 4 years ago and ran 35 seconds slower today.

Seriously, he crapped all over the entire field. Last year some elite Kenyan did the same thing, didn't want to face off against actual elites so they he registered for the citizen field. Everytime this happen it steals the glory from everday runner joes who work and aren't pros. This race needs to consider not allowing elites who have placed in national races to race in the citizen field.
Fail.
Jesus Christ!!! Were you that dude with acne pus who sprinted out in the “A” wave at 4:50pace with a Batman cape on just to get in the photos only to run 8min pace after the first quarter mile?
He wouldn’t of won the actual race, I looked it up and it says the winner was near a minute and a half up on where Tyler was

Who is Tyler Mccandless anyway? Seriously, never heard of the guy.
Former Penn State All-American on the track, 2:12 marathon pb, third at CIM last fall. Runs for Altra and Rabbit. Works full time and has a wife. Seems like a nice guy.
Non elite six year old Colt Goucher managed a respectable 1:26...
Ok Batman
What is pathetic Is your need to post this. Sad sad day for you. Hope it made you feel better to put someone down. Looks like a great win and he has been doing the citizens race for years now. You should contact race organizers and tell them to invite him into the elite section. Please stop being an a**hole. The internet has enough of your kind.

He doesn’t work full time.
I disagree, so where's your proof? Mine: I interviewed at his previous company and TM was working 50+ hours / week including frequent travel. Or is that not full time in your world?
The OP's point is baseless, as has been correctly pointed out by about 10 people prior to me. What a sad life that person lives.
In his defense, is he even considered an elite? It seems he ran in the right corral.
Agreed, TM is not an elite runner by any means. Makes up excuses when it gets tough, and blogs non stop when he accomplishes something like making dinner.....whooopie dooo we all make dinner and a lot of us live in gorgeous areas no need to take a picture of our dinner and of our porch. Dude needs to get a life.
On the other hand he did run under 31mins for 10km.ha

He's run 2:12 for a marathon. That is definitely elite in the US.
... sounds like you are pretty into this McCandless guy.
Seriously, dude runs a middle school race and is afraid to run the varsity race. Chicken.
That 2:12 was a short course and all times that day were 4-5 minutes easy per top runner. Results don't lie. He will never sniff that again unless it's st George.
You’re all just jealous because Tyler got into the DailyCamera (Boulder newspaper) for winning and you qualified for the “A” wave from a HS track race so you sprinted out in front of him in a Batman costume at 4:50 pace for the first 60secs of the race, he passed you, and then you still didn’t make it into the DailyCamera photo. FAIL. Just dumb. So dumb.
I think Steve Bosley and Frank Shorter should disqualify anyone in the A wave sprinting out in front for the photo- just a bunch of retards

In the 70's
Tyler did (still does?) the follow/unfollow thing on social media. Pretty weak.

In the 70's
He'd be the second fastest US marathoner this year and at least the seventh fastest last year. That's not elite in the US?

Doesn't everyone who uses social media "do the follow/unfollow thing"? I don't really use social media myself, so I could be wrong, but isn't that just how it works?
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
