This post is an official plea begging for change- lest this thread spirals into an area of desolation and demise in which no one feels like posting and the utter idea of D3 cross country is ignored...
I have sat back and watched this thread in its infancy and have found everyone contributing to be severely lacking. A good division 3 cross country thread is made up of a combination of those few who actually know what they are talking about and attempt to make valid and relevant posts about predictions and talk about which teams will grace the podium. This small group of actually intelligent and caring people are often dwarfed by a group of trolls who with celebrated wit and pomp create post after post of laughable and sometimes almost believable stories that capture us and make us wonder hmmm, I wonder if David ogara is actually transferring, or hmm, I wonder if the Washu bears team actually has power walks as part of their training regime. There is always the group of homers that no one likes- the individuals who come on to say "hey, watch out for the boys from Stout, they may even make nationals this year" or the ever present Atlantic-biased posters talking about each of their teams as if they would be relevant on the national stage. And finally, we have the D1 wantabees or those outsiders or old geezers who are jealous and feel threatened by us D3 folk that they feel the need to come talk crap and shower us with "D3 is JV" posts. Even they have a role in the ever-growing and always interesting D3 cross country thread...
However, what do I find when I sit down on my computer, pull up my Letsrun message board and click on the "Unofficial 2018 DIII XC (official)"? A bunch of bullsh*t so far, that's what. We have one poster sucking WIAC's dick while another is sucking Amherst's. The trolls are ABSOLUTE CRAP- some of the worst I have ever seen on this message board. Grant O'Connor? Really? I expect much better from everyone involved here. If we are going to make this thread a joke, lets at least make it a hilarious one on par with the ancient "D3 girls train hard/party hard" threads. Those were threads filled with so much yes that they should be required reading at every D3 college in the nation.
So I end with my final plea- let us all sit back and take a look in the mirror and truly ask ourselves if we are being the best we can be. Either a homer, a troll, or an actually intelligent poster- are we actually doing our job? Hopefully, we can turn this around and make this a thread actually worth reading.
Anyways, that's all on my end right now. I have to start thinking of clever ways to talk up how good my son and the WashU team are going to be this year- right before they blow up at nationals again.

To father_of_1
I like letsrun because there are no rules. this thread will organically evolve and nobody has control of it, and that's why i like it so much.
With that being said, shut up. Don't ruin this thread. people will post what they want to post, and we dont need a dictator's opinions shaping this thread
Father_of_1,
Congratulations. You have just made a brand new copypasta that will appear in every subsequent D3 XC thread!
So back to business... what do we think about 5 from the Mideast region making it to nationals?
I think the midwest should get all of the bids as we are the best region.
Who's excited for the West region to get three bids and have two teams finish in the 30s!
It's a rarity that I take the time to actually post on this board anymore since my son is far and removed from running anymore at the D3 level but I do try and read the boards time to time to stay up on things and couldn't help but notice someone plagiarize some of my old posts. I thought the board was bad back then with the trolls but this is even worse- can't even think of original material so you have to take mine? Shame on you. D3 deserves better.
http://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=5816167&page=1Pulled straight from the 2014 thread, with you just adjusting and changing a few names. Shame on you.

Nope, not brand new. LOL.
Father of Tufts runner, you have been missed dearly. Here's to hoping your son finally breaks 4:06 soon.
It isn't his fault. He is from Carleton. Between running and smoking weed, he probably spends about as much time on letsrun as NCC runners do on homework. Can't blame him for just copypasta.
I read some papers that proved HIIT in combination with crossfit is the optimal training method. Which DIII teams use HIIT? Do any pay for your CrossFit membership?
Also, when you're doing HIIT for cross country, is it better to use a spin bike or an elliptical?
Wow, can’t believe someone waited so long to post this this year.
This is a call for change. Remember the days of old – the raspberry smirnoffs, the lack of gluten, the pooping of the pants.... back then, d3 runners weren't afraid to express themselves. Ever since NCC starting smashin' d**k and smoking dope, the rest of the nation has sat idly by and watched, like some castrated voyeur. We need to work together – midwest and east coast. Two great regions – one being a master of physical feats, the other a master of science and the arts. We must join together, for it is said that hand needs the brain, just as brain need the hand. We don't want anyone d**k smashin'. Don't let the glimmer that shone in your eye when tufts son was just a baby jumbo be whisked away like a toot from the rear of Mr. Carius himself.

Bested yet again in a battle of wits!
I was at a meet tonight where Wartburg put a perfect score on the field and then 20 minutes later raced a pizza mile (like a beer Mile but with pizza) on the course vs another team. My new favorite team.

2. NCC
3. LAX
4. Calvin
5. CMU
