What is up with that? Today a guy came to the restaurant and said "his partner was on his way,". Why must gay people confuse us?

Unmarried heterosexual couples also use this term, in my experience.
If they were going out with Bekele I'm sure they wouldn't say it that way. They would be the proudest gay ever and say my love is the best runner ever. Of course that won't happen because Bekele is definitely literaly not gay.
It’s easier to say “partner” than essentially admit you’re gay, even if you are out of the closet. It’s a reflex to homophobic culture of the previous decades.
If he told you "the man who teabags my face" is on the way, would he get preferred seating? (Pardon the pun).

Maybe it was his business partner he was waiting on?

In my experience restaurant people are confused easily
I don't think you evan literally need to be gay to go out with Bekele. You would be a brainless weirdo to not if you had the opportunity.
1) I’ve heard straight people use this a lot. It’s not a gay thing.
2) Partner isnt the same as boyfriend/girlfriend. It translates to ‘this is my long term boyfriend/girlfriend whom I have not married/have no intention of getting married, but we have a serious life together (possibly children or owning a home.)’

If you say so
This topic was just deleted by the obviously homophobic mods. Beware.
