They always run the first 200 too fast and gap everyone, then slow down so they hit the correct split. They should do the opposite, start out conservative and try to pull the field to the goal split time.

The problem is everyone knows who the rabbits are . If someone doesn’t go out with the rabbits no one will , meet directors should allow a border line athlete into the race with the condition they have to go out with the pacers . If one racer does everyone will .

What they should do is not tell them who the pacer is, and add a huge money incentive to run under x.
Or run an even pace the entire time to hit the target goal.
But I also see plenty of times where the rabbit is spot on and nobody goes with him or her.
