In his Letsrun interview before the Pre Classic, Centro mentioned that Willis told him this before the awards ceremony at the Olympics. Have we misjudged Makh?? Is he clean after all?

I've thought despite all the haters, he was natty.
Either that or he thought Makh would be more likely to test positive at some point, putting him into the silver spot.

That's my take on it. No one thinks he's clean. No one at least, who actually watched the semis of the London Games, and saw him, as a then unknown runner, clearly much fitter than the field, and clearly the real favorite to win.
Willis didn't mean "gee golly I'm glad the medalists are all clean. That makes it worth more." He meant, "looks like I'll be getting another silver sooner or later"
And with Kiprop having been dirty the whole time, and NOP under investigation, its possible Willis is the clean double gold medalist. Its also possible he's just as dirty as the rest.

It was discussed at the time that that close really wasn't that amazing or unprecedented though. He may have been doped, but I thought it was in the realm of real.

The interesting thing is that he may never get rewarded for this feat.

He won't. You'll not see Makhloufi on the track again either. Deals were made.

Rubbish Makh will be back.
Makh did nothing special in London. It was less impressive than Centro winning in Rio.
The field in London was open and ripe for someone with a kick to take.
Have a read about Makhs training and you'll see where his kick comes from. Lifts heavy, heavy weights, practices 300s in 35s and 250s in 30 seconds.

Wow- you really put yourself out there with that prediction- he's either clean or dirty.
I'm pretty sure you can say that about anyone and you'd be right.

If Makh were to forfeit his London gold that will make Leo Manzano the winner.

Right, that's how doping works. Dopers take the stuff during the training cycle to increase ability to handle those kind of workouts and to quickly recover from them. Doping is all about training, its a training thing.
You have this the wrong way around!
Nick Willis, by his own account, only cares about giving his all in a race, he does not care for re-instated medals. He has made peace with the fact that some runners dope, and that they sometimes will place before him, as long as he knows that he himself he races with a clean conscience.
So, when Willis said he is glad that Kiprop, not Makhloufi got silver ahead of him, it means that he thought at the time that he was suspicious of Makhloufi and not of Kiprop.

I would agree, except for the fact that Makhloufi takes a year off to recover from the hard season.

Except that's basicallly the exact opposite of what he said ... and what happened.
The way doping works is that you accuse other people of doping.
This is exactly what the biggest doper of all time, Paula Radcliffe, did throughout her career.
Plus having the the backing of the queen and international bodies, WADA and the IAAF.
Willis has the same backing, which makes me extremely suspicious of him.
As I have been of him from the start.

No you have it wrong. Kipropr didn't get silver ahead of him. Kiprop was terrible at the 2016 Olympics.

Me too. People don't realize he's been tested an awful lot, while basically spending all his time in France, not even heading home at all for over a year at a time.

Yeah, I agree with you. I don't think Makh was ever dirty, nor Willis. Not Centro. These guys have been tested a lot, out of season too. Makh was in the right place in London, and Centro was in the right spot, inside lane the whole way in a very slow race. They both deserve their gold medals. Kiprop is probably just another of those good responders to drugs. I feel bad for clean Kenyans, but none of them are at the top of the Kenyan heap. It's too easy cheat in Kenya and Ethiopia and other countries who have basically never had to deal with out of season testing. And they continue to get away with it. Kiprop has shined a light on the Kenyans, and one can't help notice how quiet the Ethiopians are.

The biggest dopers of all time in distance running are E. Africans. Period. It can't be denied anymore. Get over it. Get over your ingrained I hate YT brainwashing but taking a step back and asking yourself just who in the world has taught me to think this way, who has made me believe this is natural? Then you might understand why the usual suspects refer to their tools, the self-haters, the SJW types, as useful idiots.
the biggest dopers of all time is the usa and ussr, late all of europe, then down to morocco, onto africa, with the chinese joining in for a quick go.
it is only fair that africa and the caribbean have their turn to reap the benefits of peds, were as before they were the victims of guys like Viren and the rest's blood doping.
today, after you catch everyone for the old peds, the guys on peptides, exotic amino acids, new "theraples" will rule, all of which makes it completely unfair to the poor african, or poor american for that matter.
no. the drug rules make if more unfair and expensive- with the podium filled with cheaters, no matter if they test clean ever.
you got to legalize drug use, and give a metal for the overall winner, and a metal for the guy that has noting of note in his system. ped users should be obliged to publish exactly what they take, that way the medical knowlegde data base increases and people will no longer have a rational for cheating the system, because at worst, you move from the clean category to the ped category.
