They were all featured in the original press release, but aren't on the latest start list. Does anyone know what happened?

That's the ripoff of that Pre meet. Nike makes them show up even if they'e injured or not ready for good times. The fans are cheated out of money.

Except that this question is about three runners who aren't showing up. H, H & K all dropped out well before the meet. The question is why.

(Nike) names are all the Pre meet has going for it. The actual performances at the meet never live up to the hype because athletes are just not in their best competition shape that early in the season. Tom Jordan (the meet director) knows this so he tries to fill the fields with the biggest NAMES he can get, knowing the media will hype his meet just because of that. Year after year, Letsrun falls for it.

All the more reason to wonder why these three dropped out before the meet.

They were never going to run!!! Duh!
Klosterhalfen is supposedly recovering from a slight foot injury. Apparently not too serious but enough to postpone the start of the season a few weeks.
Just for curiosity: Can you give us your source? I ask the question because strange enough, relevant German media like leichtathletik.de did not even explicitly mention that she whitdrew, let alone give the reason.
