The Hudson boys won the Division I (largest classification) state championship for XC last November and looked poised to compete for a state title in the 4x800m relay this spring. That dream went up in smoke last Friday night, when Hudson's 4x8 was DQed at the district meet. (For those unfamiliar with Ohio HS track, the district meet is the first round of qualifying for state. Placing in the top 4 at districts qualifies you for regionals, and placing in the top 4 at regionals qualifies you for state.)
Video of the incident is now available on YouTube, and the decision to DQ Hudson for "runner interference" has raised some eyebrows to say the least. Official meet results are here:

The end of the 4x800 can be seen 18:39 into the video. Hudson is the team in white. All they had to do was finish in the top 4 to move on to the regional meet, where they would have almost certainly proceeded to qualify for state.
Good call or bad call?
