i can't think of any good movies to watch anymore.. i use to be heavy into movies but now I can't find any good movies that I haven't already seen. I want it to be a realistic movie, maybe based on a true story is a bonus.

Good movie list, I like all those movies but seen them all many times. Was hoping to find something I haven't already seen.
Maybe even a good documentary I haven't already seen would be nice.
Broke back Mountain????

seen it, own it on vhs, dvd, and bluray, and mp4.
Planet Earth II is currently on Netflix - its 6 episodes of stunning nature documentary narrated by David Attenborough. It's been 12 years since the first Planet Earth series and the video quality is now phenomenal.
You will absolutely learn something from watching.

Ostrov (The Island) is a well made film exploring religious life, repentance, and the idea of the holy fool in the Russian Orthodox tradition. Included free with Amazon Prime. For some reason, a google search won't pick up the streaming option. You have to search Prime Video within Amazon's site.
Timbuktu centers around the 2012 jihadist occupation of the titular city. The film is composed of small vignettes that weave in and out of the "main" plot. The various stories and images explore competing notions of reconciliation and revenge as well as the use of religion for truth, hypocrisy, and violence.
Two good documentaries:
The Thin Blue Line (1988)
Crumb (1994)
A great movie that seems so real that it could be a documentary: "Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer" Really disturbing.
Cool Runnings - John Candy
Cover Girl - Rita Hayworth
Take Me Out to the Ballgame - Gene Kelly
The Pirate - Gene Kelly
A River Runs Through It is a personal favorite of mine.

François Truffaut called it his "favorite American film."

Planet Earth II is from 2016. Last year David Attenborough did Blue Earth II (7 parts) some 16 years after the original Blue Earth series.
Documentary mini-series by Ken Burns are excellent. Baseball, Civil War, Jazz, and The Congress, are some of the good ones.
The Killer Inside Me (2010)
I recommend The Last King of Scotland. I haven't literally seen it yet, but Bekele said it's his favourite film so it must be epic. I would enjoy watching a film with Bekele's wife, because she is literally a famous actor. Apart from that I'd recommend Bridget Jones Diary. I watched it in the weekend. It's a classic.
The Last King of Scotland is a very good movie indeed. Forest Whitaker learned Swahili for it.
But if you are tech savvy, why settle for movies when miniseries can be had? Some essential classics:
Shogun
Roots
Lonesome Dove
Napoleon (the one with Depardieu as Foucault)

Three billboards...
Best movie I've seen in the theatre in many, many years.
Check out some B&W classics... Casablanca. Citizen Kane. Maltese Falcon. Etc...
