Your just a child, so you cannot remember what high schools were like before liberals screwed them up. You could only enter through the main door, no one was allowed in hallways between classes, and you had three minutes to get to the next class. Hall monitors stopped anyone in the hallways between classes and anyone without a pass was given detention. No one left school before the end of the day. Free periods were monitored study halls. Girls were respected and not shot or beat up. Kids from that environment then went on to the Vietnam war.
The current generation is nothing but sissies and bullies.
I wonder which generation was in charge of that transition and didn't feel like doing their job to raise kids properly or enforce discipline. Thanks, Gramps.

And saying such a thing does not make you either?
It is funny that many who call for stricter gun control measures say that all solutions should be on the table, but then they throw out something that is worth looking at without considering the validity of the idea.
Considering how schools are built and accessed are legit considerations.
They do not cause mass shootings (whacked out people do), but being able to access the school can make it easier.
No single solution is going to stop school shootings. The motives of school shooters vary and that means we need varying solutions.
Let's start by limiting access to firearms. Not every school shooting happened indoors, but they all involved at least one gun.

How did you get from one class to another if no one was allowed in the hallways between classes?
Houston, we have a problem........ wrote:

This is brilliant! If we ban all doors at schools then we solve the school shooting problem because these heavily armed perps won’t be able to get into the schools. Problem solved!
Why don't we have more shootings in capitol buildings? Or airports? Limited access and security at those access points. Solving the problem isn't about doing one thing. It's about multiple things like screening for mental health issues, more gun control, better school security. Doors in the schools that are capable of being secured during a lock down and are beefed up. Many of the school shootings had instances of students hiding in rooms and the shooter just walked in and started shooting. Make the doors heavy gauge steel and locked from the inside. Again, just one part of many to help make the situation better. I don't think it's something we can solve entirely but there many idea that will help.
Murder should be illegal.
I don’t want more security and restrictions in life. That gives the psycho killers two victories. I would rather just accept the risks of life and live in a non police state society. Drunk drivers kill 15,000 per year in the USA vs roughly 150 school shootings, if that many.

Agreed. School shootings are tragic when the occur, but we need to realize that any individual student's odds of being killed in that manner are basically zero. I don't want TSA style security at school so that my son has to be fondled by some fat lady to prove that he isn't armed just for the optics of "doing something."

Um, interesting statistic from the article below....”Americans of high-school age are 82 times more likely to die from a gun homicide than 15- to 19-year-olds in the rest of the developed world.”
