Female runner, running 40 miles a week. I felt very strong at the beginning of track season (10:50 for the 3200) but as the season went on, my quads started fatiguing half way through my runs and at the one mile mark of the 3200. My times slowed in the 3200 by about 10 -15 seconds. Aerobically, I felt very strong, but my quads were getting tired. I'm taking two weeks off, and then I'll start base training. I am wondering if my quads might be weak, compared to my hamstrings. Does anyone know of good strength workouts or cross training, that will help strengthen the quads?
