Yep, Israel has a simple solution.

it is difficult for outsiders to enter an Israeli school. Most schools maintain only one unlocked entrance that is typically staffed by an armed guard.

Unlike USA, where FBI has prior knowledge of unhinged shooters, but still ignores all the red flags to make political appointees look good. Most "security theater" in USA would be consider joke in Israel. But the notion of "rights" is such a big deal, you can't actually target anyone (especially the suspicious) w/o being sued.

When Israel says "gun-free zone" they actually mean it.

In USA, its' just a political label, that means nothing except hopes and wishes.

It says something, been three (3) active shooters in USA recently.

(1) Las Vegas Mall, (rent-a-)cops instantly there, no dead

(2) Attack on Trump properties (FL), again high security in place, no biggie

(3) "Gun-Free" Zone School, completely open to attack, ends with 10+ dead

Why can't USA people get the picture already?? When bad guys are attacking X, you should defend it!

Wishing that bad guys just don't exist somehow is the ultimate ostrich syndrome.

POLLACK: It's a process. It can't just be one step, you know? There's layers of security. So you have to start with the security of ... entry points. You've gotta have limited entry points. You need metal detectors, and you need armed guards. It's really three layers of security to protect our kids.

Note also that DB Cooper was the first big hijacking in USA, with many me-toos in ensuing months, leading to the first wave of airport security theatre.

Pollack went on to talk about having trained and armed personnel stationed in schools.
