Hello,
I'm a forefoot striker. From what I've read I have a normal forefoot strike wear pattern on my shoes (currently Saucony Ride usually Adidas Glide boost). As I understand it normal wear is mostly to the outside mid to forefoot edge of the shoe then progresses across the forefoot and toes. I usually retire a pair of shoes after 400 to 500 miles.
My question is if there is a shoe brand/model that has more tread or something on that mid to forefoot edge so the wear is more even across the forefoot of the shoe? I see wear patterns from proper heel strikers and they have pretty uniform wear across the surface of the shoe but we forefoot strikers are left with excessive wear from one relatively small portion.
A part of me suspects that attempting to fix this would result in a shoe that does not allow for proper forefoot pronation and therefore might result in more injuries but the slightly OCD side of me is really bothered by the uneven wear.
What are everyone's thoughts?
