Discus.
Discus.
Cyclists, and it's not even close.
Are we talking per minute at race pace?
I am pretty sure running burns more calories than biking but they are probably similar at max effort.
Soccer players are more relaxed and can rest. Not ultra endurance athletes. More comparable to sprinters.
Elite runners eat 3000 to 4000 calories a day. Your tour de France level cyclist will eat 5000+ calories a day. Up to 10000 calories in the alps.
Training wise:
Elite distance runners, run about 10 hours a week. Plus cross training.
Your tour de France level cyclist will train 30+ hours a week. Plus cross training.

I take it you want to 'discuss' rather than suggesting the discus :-)
If you are after per minute, then cycling probably half of running...per km it is about a quarter

It's not just Pro Tour cyclists riding that much. None of them are eating 10,000 calories a day during a grand tour either. Try to not be so stupid.
Probably soccer players if you take into consideration that they have sex

I am not sure the papers back up the 10,000 kcals.
1 MJ=239 kcals

Disjointed Post Alert
There seems to be very little agreement on the internets on this one, but these are listed very consistently at the top, in no particular order:
Soccer
XC Skiing
Swimming
Stair Climbing
Running
I told myself before searching that it would be either Swimming or XC Skiing.
One interesting aspect of your question is that you specified "pro". Obviously, the better you are at something, the fewer calories you burn doing it.
To answer the OP, I will say:
3. Pro Soccer (they get to stand around sometimes)
2. Cyclists (they get to coast a little, but even when going full bore, they "only" use half of the body)*
1. Marathoners (use the entire body; never get "coasting breaks")
*Yes, I am aware that Pro cyclists have one of the highest average LTs in all of sports, second to only XC Skiing, if I remember...
How many hours per week on average does the soccer pro compete or practice?
Not rigorous , but using the 100 Calories per mile rule of thumb, Yiannis Kouros' 24 hour record 303.506 km (188.590 miles) would be something on the order of 19,000 calories in a day. I've no idea what the numbers might be for ultra-swimmers, but probably similarly mind-boggling.
Day in and day out, cyclists, swimmers, and nordic skiers put in a lot of hours of training at elevated burn rates.

29 hours tops. This is split about with some double days of tactics, but a good chunk is in the gym. This also accounts for two games in the week. Total run as training for the week maybe only 4 hours. At least one rest day too.

I wish people would stop talking about that which they do not know. 5000kcal is not at all a "conservative" estimate per stage as they suggest. 5000kj stages do happen, but it's not a day-in day-out occurrence. 7000kcal means you're looking at close to 8000kj's probably, which I very highly doubt Cancellara ever did during any of the classics, let alone the tour.
You have to remember that a lot of the calories burned are fat. Most of the guys are at least 2-3kgs lighter by the time they are rolling down the Champs-Élysées versus where the grande départ took place. That's a deficit of over 1000kcal a day if my super quick math is about right.
Of the 3, cyclists as a fgunction of the length of theirt event. Per minute of competition it's X-Country skiers.
Remember with cycling, you start a 3 week tour looking skinny in the hope that you can lose weight and ride yourself into form looking like this:

Cyclists sit on their Arse the entire ride, coasting down hills and drafting.
I'd say high level runners (like a Kipchoge).
