I didn't read anything about a second victim. As for the the plea deal, there must have been some problems with the victim's statements or other evidence.

He's been convicted and now resides in Chino!

When we see a smaller punishment than we (society) think is normal, criminal defense attorneys did a solid job finding flaws with the prosecutors' case. Prosecutors do not want to take flawed cases to a jury. Prosecutors do not want flaws exposed.

Does it matter that it is homosexual, as you put it?
It apparently didn't matter to the judge
Hard to believe they didn't find anything else on him, you don't just wake up at 58 years old and start doing that kind of stuff.
His MO was probably to target runaways and homeless teenagers who are unlikely to go to the police.
As to his coaching, there would not be much opportunity to be alone with a child. Most parents drop off and pick up their kids or would ask another parent.
There's something wrong with you now.

They probably didn't look very hard. His name was out there and it doesn't appear any other victims came forward. Detectives only have so much time and resources, they probably just focused on prosecuting the case they had.
Or maybe there are more victims and they intend to prosecute those separately.
Agree that this probably was not his first time.

Plea deals are super common in these types of cases. Testifying can be very traumatic for the victim, so they are often on board with it.
In the late 80's he got in trouble with the police for providing a male minor with alcohol. I do not know the details of this incident. I do believe that the minor was someone he was coaching at the time.
'80s, not 80's.
He’s going have some bufu buddies join him soon. They can start a track club.....

Over 90% of cases in US in county or state courts are concluded with plea deal. Plea deals are super common in most cases. Posters on letsrun are surprised by one year sentence. You will find individuals in US sometimes getting one year sentence for 3rd DUI w/in five years. The fly on the wall during plea negotiations knows.
There was alot more instances I'm sure of it.
I'd hit that. Same for Sad Mom.
Considering this is almost two years ago, and he only was sentenced to a year, he should be out roaming the streets. Although he will have to register as an S.O. and is a convicted felon, both of which will hamper his ability to get a job.
He was pretty well known in Southern California , he probably had to move away. My guess would be Las Vegas. How does a person put their life back together after something like that?
