Hebephilia, not pedophilia. Fifteen-year-olds aren't typically prepubescent.

That was my thought as well. It's appalling that a mother would think any differently.
After I read my post, I caught how it would read. I can sometimes get wordy and was attempting to keep it short. My concern about my son quitting has nothing to do with a "stage mom" type of thing. The reason is much sadder.
Over the past 5 yrs, our nuclear family has experienced tradegy after tradegy. If were to go into detail, you would either cry or wish I were lying. The chaos and pain of the past 5 yrs deeply impacted both of my children. I was doing all I could to get us through.
Prior to joining xcountry and track, my son was depressed and kinda lost. All that changed when he became part of the team. My son is probably one of the worst on the team, and he will proudly admit it. Therefore, its been pretty obvious he isn't on the team for the thrill of victory.
The group of kids on the team are all amazing!!! Its really hard to describe how much of a "family" they are. As much as it pains me to say...Steve was a huge part of this. For the past 3 yrs, I seen my son so dedicated and love the "team". Now this is threatened. Besides, losing Steve, some of the team mates are talking about moving (long story, but it is bc Steve's departure. ) I don't want my son to lose what has brought him so much happiness, sense of belonging etc.
There is much more I could say but gotta get to work.
This will be the last time I will respond to attacks .
I find it appalling that someone would jump to conclusions without checking for clarity. In addition, I find it kinda of scary stupid that you think you can seriously judge what kind of parent I am based on a parapgragh on the internet. Truth is..you can't. Lastly, if you haven't learned it yet, life will humble you. From the bottom of my heart, I hope you never have to go through as situation such as this...it really sucks. We entire family has been deeply hurt by this. What parent wants to see their child, crushed? What parent wants to see their daughter desperately try to comfort her little brother? Saturday, I was awoken to the sobbing of tears, at 2:30 am..not from my son but my daughter. The only words she was able to say through her tears is "my heart hurts for my brother".
For some, this may be just another side-show to the circus of life... But my family and some other families who have kids on the team...it hurts...
Sad Mom,
I cannot imagine the confusion and pain right now for your family. It is my opinion that you and your child(ren) should seek professional counseling in this matter. This shouldn't serve as an excuse, but these boards are perhaps the worst place for you to be right now.
I wish you the best in recovery and healing.

Great post Cush. I think you are right, if there was a pattern of behavior, it will come out. It is possible that Steve was being sympathetic, picked up the kid, and the kid fabricated a story. It will come down to corroborating evidence.

You're not thinking clearly at this point.

33% of children molested are male while only 1% of the population is gay.
I used to be tolerant of gays but that was a long time ago.
No more.
Gays are perverts, dangerous to children, and should not be acceptable in modern society.
Go live in a hole you piece of garbage. There is quite a difference between being gay and being a molester. I don’t accept you in modern society.

The former has been caught and the latter has not.
SoCal Cush or Pylon, I not sure of the fomat, but is there to "backchat" in a forum that is not public? If so, would one of you be willing? Honestly, trying to process the situation. I will admit, I was taken aback by some of the responses I got. I really hate the whole "online" stuff and often in trouble by my aunts for my lack of Facebook partipation. From the bottom of my heart, I really am trying to do the best for my son and I know myself well enough to know I have to process information. I understand if declined. Either way, the way both of you manage to not lose the humanity in such a painful is acknowledge and appreciated.
Letsrun.com doesn't have private messaging.
Nor does it have subscription of threads, the ability to save friends (can't contact them anyway), nor a multitude of common features that modern (for the last couple of decades) forums have. Perhaps one of them will post their email address, and you could communicate through email, but not here.
What you just wrote is false.
Lies, damn lies, statistics, then your statistics.

Some parents can ask their children (AND SOME CHILDREN CAN ANSWER) if they were molested and when the child says, "No" they are being honest and the parent can believe them. Did it not occur to you that she had already done this?
Thank you and a gigantic YES to all your assertions. As you noticed, I can really get long winded...so again thank you.
