Photo of my shoes:
These are Saucony Guide 10 shoes with 450 miles of road running.
I am 5'7" 110lbs. I have had repeated foot problems for the past few years: plantar fasciitis on both feet, achilles tendonitis, achilles bursitis, all on both feet at various times. My doctor and podiatrist said that it is just from excessive running (50 miles per week) and I need to stretch diligently, which I do.
I've had my gait analysed twice and they concluded that I slightly overpronate but both times I had a nagging foot injury that caused me to run unnaturally at the time of the analysis.
So, could it be that I am causing myself mechanic issues and injury by wearing guidance shoes when I am really a neutral runner? My shoe wear pattern looks like I heel strike on the outside of the heel and my toe pattern is fairly even. Does this mean that I am neutral runner OR does that mean that the guidance shoes are exactly doing their job ?
Thanks!
