bad sign. breaks national record and Fun Meter is at Zero.
Always looking to improve, never satisfied. If I was a coach that's exactly what I would want in an athlete.

This. She’s a competitive athlete. The reason she’s been so successful is her personality. Come back to me when you can run a 400 at Tuohy’s 3200 pace OP.

You made an assertion, not an argument. What specifically indicates that "Tuohy's attitude is poor?" You didn't say. Your brief post may tell more about you than it does about Tuohy, and what it tells is that you may be begrudging or envious.
Look, she's 15 or 16 or whatever and is pretty awesome. There's really no other point that needs to be made.

First of all, there's nothing wrong with being disappointed. She doesn't owe it to you to pretend to be happy about running 9 seconds slower than Mary Cain's indoor record. The kid is a sophomore in high school, it's not time to grow up yet.

I'm sick of people giving her all the credit. She's one of my best clients.

My 400 time is 57, what did you want me to "come back to you for"?

No. Way too intense, obsessed, and neurotic, at way too young of an age. Prime burn-out material. Mark my words: she'll be toast by age 21. Another Mary Cain.
Touhy does seem to be a bit blasé since XC. Katelynne Hart is quite a contrast, seems to find joy in her running.
Give her a break! There is nothing wrong with striving for more! She puts in a lot of effort and she is disappointed not getting the time she wants. I am pretty sure an hs runner who is competitive acts like this. I am the same way I might PR but you always look back to the times in your race you knew you should have went harder or if you didn’t put in 100% then you want to go back in change it. Maybe she mentally gave up at one place and is now pissed about it because she knew she could have went harder. Touhy isn’t given many opportunities to race all out... she might not be given another chance at all this season if she runs relays at state and nationals. This was probably one of the only times this season she got to race all out. She is also under a lot of pressure from the media and running community always expecting a lot from her. She’s in 10th grade barley 16 and these comments don’t help. She has high work ethic and is self motivated obviously! And I will guarantee you most hs runners or any runner will act like this is they have some competitive edge!!!
She's still 15, per runnersworld
OP, are you serious?
Did she go home DEVASTATED?
Seems like she was happy with her mile race and not hyper-focused on setting records every time she runs.
Yeah if you’re a dude roasting a 15-16 year old girl and you can only run a 57 400 you’re actual garbage.
It was a dumb race and she went out way too hard. She got a weak record as a consolation prize. She SHOULD be disappointed.
are you dumb? my name is hsrunnergall. I am a 14 year old girl, that is my best time, and it is from the only time I ran the 400.

Now that I realize you are pretty close to Tuohy's age, it looks more like you are just jealous and trying to roast her for something dumb. 57 aint bad, but you are a sprinter, whats your business trying to roast a legendary distance runner?
