splits about 15:52/16:53 for a 32:45 and a win by nearly a minute
dont worry about the spelling dude.
that was crazy
No clue what you're talking about.
Please elaborate
I'll just wait for another thread to be started about this I guess.
She barely finished 10k at big tens...it really didn’t looks like she was gonna finish those last 2 laps. She was kinda swerving and her eyes were closed and then she collapsed at the finish.

Thanks for the details. Looking at the splits her 2nd to last lap was maybe 2 to 5 seconds slower than normal and the last one was about 10 seconds slower than one would expect for the last lap with some kick compared to other runners. I wonder if the first 2800 meters where she had some close competition took too much out of her given her training after her early season injury.
How was the temperature and humidity there? Were they a factors? I see that a few 10000 meter runners DNF'ed including two from MSU. Was the temperature too hot for those of us who suffered through Michigan's cold temperatures all winter and up through much of April? It was very cold and wet back here again today in Michigan.
I was a little surprised to see that Erin even competed given whatever injury she suffered early in the season that took her out of competitions.
It was in the 80s for temperature and really humid. People were on the back stretch handing water cups or throwing water at runners to help them cool down..
The only reason that her last two laps were slow was because she was showboating. She did the last 70 meters backwards while trying to pump up the crowd. I can't see how she doesn't get DQ'd.

...why? just, why? There's no need to go out anywhere close to that pace.

Well you see it was her first 10k and there's this little thing called the NCAA Regional she wanted to make sure she qualified for.
I am so tired of her game. Although she is tough as nails, she has only one strategy.
Go out hard.
This is why she will never be a good marathoner. The marathon is a game of patience and she simply has none.

There isn’t? She’s run 31:51 and 32:00 before. Obviously the conditions were rough but that’s not out of this world fast relative to what she’s done in the past. She’s my pick to win NCAA’s.

Seems like you’re the one with no patience jumping to such bold conclusions like that.
She led the race wire to wire, and it appears from the splits that she was within ~100m of lapping the second place runner at one point. Not exactly shocking that she pulled off the W...
Ok, my bad with the lack of details last night and using site instead of sight.
Erin took off like a bad out of hell. Lapped her 1st runner 8 mins into the race. Lapped the pack 13 mins in the race. With 800 to go , her head was back probably 5 % back off her shoulders, and she started to really struggle maintaining her equilibrium and was basically running on instinct . With 100 to go she was all over the track and somehow got home to win. She laid on the track several mins with medical people around. She lapped several runners 3 times and I'm not sure how they kept track of all that.
She will not be back for the 5K I would think

Maybe you should lay down and rest.
