#1 KK
#2 GR
isn't Meb currently faster than KK?
KK might be in the current top 25?
Meb, Ritz, Hall are all capable of a Rockyesque comeback for the trials.

Umm... Have you ever heard of Bill Rodgers?
Win the equivalent of 8 world majors ( 4 NYC, 4 Boston ) and the come back and we will talk.
I think the OP means CURRENT US runners- Tyler Pennel comes to mind, Tim Richie as well.
Watch out for Joe Stilin in 2020
Some real dolts here, as usual. Obviously the OP meant current runners.
The answer is: I don’t know or really care, because whoever he is, he’s probably at least 4 minutes slower than Rupp right now.
Parker Stinson or possibly Tyler McCandless.
Currently active? If that is the question, I'd probably say number two is Luke Puskerdra.
Shadrack Biwott. 4th in Boston last year, 3rd in Boston this year. 10th at NYC in 2017, 5th in 2016.
Desi won Boston, Shalane won New York.
Has the US ever had a gap between #1 and #2 that is big as it is between Rupp and ??? I'm pretty sure the gap in performances in the last two years is more than 5 minutes.

I would have to guess that if Korir ran a marathon, it would result in him being #2.
I also think Diego Estrada has some upside.

I may need to rethink this. I did not see Lenny's result from Pittsburgh today before my previous post.
Shadrack Biwott. 4th and 3rd at the last two Boston marathons.
Three of these runners haven't even run marathons....
Derrick could be solid if he is able to stay healthy. Stinson is looking pretty good as well.
Number 2?
That’s easy.... the NJ Superintendent.
Are you talking about who has the potential to be? People are tossing around names of guys that have never even run a marathon.
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
Running for Bowerman Track Club used to be cool now its embarrassing
Rest in Peace Adrian Lehmann - 2:11 Swiss marathoner. Dies of heart attack.
Hats off to my dad. He just ran a 1:42 Half Marathon and turns 75 in 2 months!
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
