Geez I had no idea giraffes were that dangerous. Sounds like he swung his neck and knocked the director in the head.

Geez whiz I didn't know their heads were that big
Wasn't he in Quiet Riot?
Bull giraffes fight that way. A human would stand no chance, it would be like getting hit with a bowling ball. Poor guy.

I saw this on Dailymail and kept wondering about what is going on in South Africa.
A similar thing (or something close) happened over there.
https://news.sky.com/video/man-mauled-by-lion-in-south-africa-11355501You'd probably be okay BEHIND the camera. I'd suggest some nature work with giraffes during rutting season . . .
I watched a couple of giraffes fighting that way in Tanzania. It looked like they were literally trying to break the neck of their competitor. They were hitting hard and it was loud.
I'll never make fun of someone with a giraffe neck again.
A giraffe can decapitate a lion with a back kick.
The article says the guy was knocked 16 feet by the giraffe. Wonder if he was standing on the ground when he was hit. That's way too close to get to a bull giraffe. If you need an up close shot use a remote controlled camera for those angles. Heck, use a drone camera, even better...it's 2018 jeez why didn't he just use a drone camera...
How tall do they get?
Has the Kenyan animal been tested for EPO?
Exactly! He was standing between his front legs taking pictures of the giraffes feet! At least the giraffe won't be euthanized per owner.
What a moron

Wow, that guy is a first class idiot. In the world of drone cameras there is no excuse for this crap.
I'd rather the giraffe destroy my drone than destroy my life or put me in such a shape that I have to shell out 10 times more than the cost of replacing a drone to fix my body.

I'm sure he was poised to avoid a defensive kick....?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9nGalzYRp4I have no desire to visit Africa and hike in the wild...too many hazards...worst than running in the Rocky Mountain area. Mountain lions hardly ever bother you.

That drone would be swat like a fly.
