Galen Rupp interview with brazilian youtuber

Great interview from the guy from Brazil. Good athlete . Don't know what all the hype is about giving him a rough time.

Just totally not true. But people can make comments about people on there. So if Rojo can have stuff said about him, Galen will have stuff as well. Not the end of the world that someone calls Rojo an ahole.

You guys have a double standard with Rupp. It’s painfully obvious. Same with Mo

But based on your previous action. You do have a problem with someone calling Rojo names. You often delete posts and thread from people who dare offer criticism of either of you. Are you older? You seem to want to protect Rojo

If you really cared about clean sport, then you wouldn't be such dirty interviewers, to the point that most professionals don't want to talk to you. You ask such rotten filthy questions. You may be softening your stance now but you should own the fact that:

1. You focus most of your anti-doping energy on a Rupp. It’s good that he was investigated and tested but nothing came of it. There was a rebutall, some big promises by accuser of more to come and then nothing. .You dont ask logical follow up questions of Rupp accusers or apply the same standards to runners in other groups or even NOP runners who you like. Also, you try to link Salazar and Rupp to other doping stories (‘he traded emails with Aden once’!) but, for example, you call for patience case involves runners like kiprop or athletes linked to the Italian agents and coaches who flatter the site,

2.For years, this board allowed the worst statements about Rupp even when he was a young college runner years away from being world class. LRC routinely had posts mocking his appearance and his name and questioning his sexuality (as if that would be a problem). It was really bad. Such posts about other athletes, if any, were more quickly deleted.

Been reading this site a long time, although not posting much the last several years.

I agree with the general sentiment here that this site has allowed or encouraged an amateurish hatchet job of Rupp. I imagine it's possible that Rupp's a doper, but I give that possibility about the same likelihood as I assign the chance that wejo was doping when he trained for his 28-whatever and then rabbited the Radcliffe WR run. In my brain, every high level athlete is suspect, and I don't let their personality influence that belief. Surely some of them are clean; hopefully many or most. But to me they are suspected dopers until they fail a drug test, at which point they become confirmed dopers. There are no 100% certain clean athletes, just dopers and suspected dopers.

Rupp and Salazar have to take responsibility for a lot of the mocking he's received on here. "Rupp-certified" wasn't invented by posters out of thin air. Similarly, the effeminate hands-on-hip race start pose wasn't photoshopped. Ditto the Bane face masks. The brojos (I can't muster the courage to call them blojos, which might be the best contribution to this thread so far...) fan the flames of vile anonymous internet commentary and have let this devolve into a perpetual LR vs. NOP+Salazar+Rupp slap-fight. That they would be surprised that Rupp isn't keen to take their questions seems, to me, unsurprising.

Thinking about it, I realize this comes across as unfairly harsh. wejo comes across as having solidly average intelligence, and rojo seems to have got at least (but maybe not significantly more than) 2/3 of an average intelligence. :-)

After sleeping on it, I realize of course that this wasn't very nice. I was trying to be funny and make a point, exaggerating for effect. But, like the brojos could use a bit more restraint and professionalism in their treatment of Rupp (and others), I was out of line with my comments. I retract what I wrote, and apologize.
