The jury says yes, it helps a lot.

Why are people assuming this kid is clean just because he is 17? Is it because he is white? Don't forget about all those Norwegian skiers.
Great question!

"All those norwegian skiers" are one that took too much asthma medicine once, and one where the doctor bought wrong type of lip ointment from italian pharmacie; no epo has ever been found in any norwegian skier.
Here is what one from Finland says about norwegian and doping (and the fins have all reason to hate the norwegians, since they get beaten all the time):
You mean asthma medications which are known to widen airways and whose multiple studies have shown to improve aerobic capacities ?

Yes. It improves a lot. For people with asthma, and it is very very legal, unless too much is taken over a short period of time.
The guy and his doctor were idiots, as was the case with the lip ointment for the girl, but to use those two cases against a 17 year old as proof or indication for him using epo? Come on.

Sorry, I mean Kara Goucher, not Shalane Flanagan. I always confuse those two.

Yeah, all white people look the same.

No use in playing the racist card in every thread. You also lose credability when you keep defending ooc testing in Kenya but time and time again we are shown that it is a joke. That coupled with the countless cases of age doping make the random Kenyans showing up running world class times at "17" not as interesting to follow.
This thread is about Jakob, why don't you stop trying to make it about some random Kenyan in an attempt to undermine his performance
You're unregistered, so not worth a rebuttal. Ignore my posts going forward.
You lack credibility in this case kiddo. Your problem is that you often try to brand the western world as racists and terrible people, when people do the same to your part of the world its just an idiot against another idiot (you). Neither of you should say anything.

All Kenyans agree that Federico must go. I'm not alone in this. I've never liked this guy and think he's all big talk and little action (and don't get me started on him robbing deserving athletes of an Olympic slot) but even a stopped clock is right twice a day:
I understand and agree. But don't make the mistake of assuming all Italians are the same, just because the Rosas are very shady to say the least. An eye for an eye is not the way forward.
In any case, enough about this, this thread is supposed to be about a young Norwegian whose name is difficult to spell.

Except that cubans conduct more anti-doping tests that pretty much every European country of the same size.

Meh, no one is in shape and raring to go. Long seasons.
However, Ingy has TALENT.
By what you wrote seem like you are saying that Jakob had peaked for this race. What makes you think that he is not in the start of his build up for the season. This kid surely will run the IAAF U20 champs and the Euro Sr Champs later this summer so he has lots to point to and this is just 1 step towards that. Also last year this kid kept racing and getting better and better.

So now they do that to teens too... (if he's indeed born in 2000)
Guys, let's not get too caught up in other things. This is one of the most stunning results in recent memory. A 17 year old just beat the Olympic champ, one of the best 5k kickers in the world, some other pros, and a couple of the best collegians, who should really be rounding into shape right now. And he did it by a second on the final lap.
With a teenage phenom, there's always a question on whether they will become a mega-talent, or just a "normal" talent. Well, this is a career-defining win for almost anyone.
It's absolutely shocking.

The Ingebrigtsen brothers have been in Flagstaff since april 14th for the objective to be in the hights and get in some training at competition speed, which, according to their father, they have not done during the winter. Hardly peaking.

AGE CHEAT!
DOPER!
COE! CRAM! OVETT!
TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!
What did I miss?
Well, when it comes to a country that has loose testing and corrupt-to-the-core ADA, such sentiments are understandable.

Yes, he's in his buildup, just like everyone else.
