How many more second chances should he get?

Lock him up, the kid is a loser
Are PEDs that expensive? Shouldn't he be getting envelopes filled with cash, I mean a stipend from college alumni by now?
Maybe he is preparing for a career in the NFL?

OK, this kid is a moron!
It was probably a white person that called the cops on him, right? I'm sure he did nothing wrong.

Unbelievable. I take back what I said on the last page about Cooper being honest with the cops after getting caught stealing cars. Cooper looks to be just another common thief.

I'm not condoning taking anything that doesn't belong to you, but I will double down on my assertion that stealing a rental car is a far lesser crime (morally) than raping someone with a water bottle.
You are a morally bankrupt person. Next to you Homer Simpson is a genius.
Would you feel that way if you owned a rental car franchise and had to tell customers that you didn't have cars available for their reservations because ten of them were stolen? I guess if you explained that they were stolen by underprivileged high school track stars the customers would understand and give you money for their rentals even though you didn't have cars?
Hmm... franchise owner who undoubtedly has insurance or teenage kid being raped... can't decide which is worse...
Stealing

This should read "Stealing < Rape"
Originally I put about 15 less than signs, but they disappear and delete the rest of your post for some reason if you have too many? Weird..

Not really sure what your point is. Rape and stealing both are crimes. Whichever crime is committed it certainly matters to the victim.
Rape versus Stealing is irrelevant unless the DA is trying to figure out how to charge a defendant who has committed both.
Tyrese knows what stealing is and he may be experiencing rape very soon.
What a loser. Lock him up. I honestly have a hard time even comprehending that someone can be so stupid. Dude, you've been arrested 3 times since April...and twice in the past TEN days. Last week when the news broke I felt sorry for him, but now its just comical. You're a big boy Tyrese, and I hope you enjoy your big boy prison sentence.
Fuckin Nam man.... amiright?
The incident he was arrested for today occurred before the incident he was arrested for on May 1st.
The racism oozing from some of these posts is disgusting. This young man is obviously going down the wrong road, and needs someone to pull him back and help set him right. He has a gift that can take him far, if he hasn't blow his opportunities. Some young people lack good judgement sometimes - this comes with age. All I feel is sadness over these reports - he is troubled and needs help. What has happened to kindness and sympathy and wanting to help lift up another human being? All the nastiness in these posts is coming from posters who are not perfect, never were and never will be. Tyrese Cooper can be saved and go on to accomplish amazing things in the running world! I want to see this young man reach his potential and be successful. Don't give up Tyrese! You've got a fan base out here rooting for you!! Own your mistakes, learn from them, and focus on making your future successful!
Finally a post that doesn't make me ashamed of my fellow running fans! I've met Tyrese, and I can tell you that he hasn't had the advantages in life that many others have. His speed was, hopefully IS, his ticket to a better life. He needs emotional support to do that. Come down off your moral high-horses and stop hoping for and celebrating his downfall. He can turn it around, and move his life in a productive direction.
You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. His longtime coach was there for him, but Tyrese repeatedly made bad choices. His running career as we've known it is done. I agree he shouldn't give up on himself in general and I'd love to see him be a productive part of society and have some inner peace, but running isn't where he's going to find that.
What's really happening here is Mr. Cooper is burnt out on running and doesn't know how to move on from the sport gracefully. This is the only way he knows how to quit.
Look at his results. I'm somewhat disgusted. This kid was used and abused like some racing dog. 273 results in the last 6 years, most of them coming between 8th-10th grade. Who knows how many results aren't listed, but it's pathetic to run a talent like that so hard that they have to lash out to try and get away.

20.98 (+1.5) and 46.98 as an 8th grader! I'm thinking Tyrese had at least one advantage almost none of the rest of us have had.
No I'm sorry you guys are wrong. Maybe if he was arrested once then I would let it slide. Two arrests and I feel sorry for the kid. But THREE arrests in 5 weeks is something completely different. By the above poster's logic, since Tyrese didn't have the "advantages in life" that others have had, he should be given grace. Sorry buddy but that's not how the world works. Can he turn his life around....Sure! But first he has to suffer the consequences of his actions. If he honestly cared about his future in the sport of track, then he wouldn't put himself in these situations in the first place.
Also, no one is "celebrating" his downfall. If anything people are just frustrated and annoyed. I've met hundreds of runners who work hard, stay out of trouble, and strive to achieve greatness in this sport. Tyrese (who I'm sure worked very hard) was born to be a world class athlete. From his actions I honestly don't think he cares about his future in the sport, however I sincerely hope that I am wrong.
I hope this kid can get his life together, but right now his back is against the wall
Respectfully agree to disagree. (And because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them wrong, and you right). His running career may be over, but It Doesn't Have to Be! And I hope not. At 18, with an adolescence like his, how can he even know what being saved means? He will pay the price for these mistakes, as he should, and perhaps learn his hard lesson and turn it back around. Hopefully have a collegiate career, then a professional one. His running can be what saves him. He has a rare gift and it needs to be nurtured, not exploited.

Regardless of his age, he's a high school junior. Yes, he's a legal adult. Yes, this is a matter of public record. But do you not find it at all gross that FloTrack and MileSplit, which made money off of promoting his likeness and track exploits, continues to make money by promoting and making nationally known his darkest moments? They're promoting their brand without any respect for his privacy or personhood. They're entitled to do whatever they want. It just seems gross to me. And I may cancel my FloPro account over it.
You wouldn't do that if he were white, would you? Did you type this post on your phone while at Whole Foods to get snacks for some 'save the whatever' march tomorrow?
