Are you joking? It was one of the worst marathons I've ever run. I am not surprised in the slightest. It was a total shitshow, worst marathon ever. Hopefully this will open up the space for competent organizers to actually make a nice marathon in Portland.

They should redo it as a fast downhill course, BQ qualifier.
This sound similar to what happened to the Charlotte Observer Marathon back in the early late 90's or early 00's that killed it.
But in that case it killed a great race with a good history and reputation.

They have new Race directors nows. Paula and Dave Harkin. It’s been re named Portlandathon. Dave and Paula are experienced and I think it will be great. Plus they added the 5 mile back. Which one believe Les took away when they added the 1/2 marathon.
I’ve ran Portland 7 times. Yes it’s kinda a boring route. Not sure how they can improve on this with the hills and curves. But let’s see what happens.
The weird thing is it's for one year. They have to rebid next year.
Add prize money, make the course faster, proper mile markers? It's pathetic the race is won with a time in the 2:30s. Fast runners avoid this marathon like the plague. The previous RD earned a reputation for lack of respect of elite, sub-elite runners.
