I know the odds are low, but I don't know of anyone around me that's gotten into London through the lottery, all through marathon tours or charity. Anyone have luck with this?

How many times do you need to start this topic? We get it, you want to run London but you have to wait your turn like the rest of the crowd.
Got rejected twice.
Would have won my age group too in both the last two years.
'Fast for age' us only for English club runners, not Americans.
I've given up trying to get in,
Their goal is to be the biggest fund raiser ever,
They only want the $.
It's like a local 5k charging $45 to milk the discretionary income out of folks....
London is like a multi level marketing scheme/scam.
Quit whining snowflake - London costs just 50 dollars or so to run (and nothing if you don't get in through the ballot, unless you're dumb enough to opt in to buy the merchandise thinking it'll improve your odds of getting in), so hardly the scam you claim it is. Contrast that with the 358 dollars foreigners get charged to run New York and it isn't even close.
Nope it's a scam wrote:

seems like marathontours/charity is pretty much the only way in for US residents. don't know any locals or IGer's who got in through ballot.
Americans do not get into London without a fund raising promise or big dollars paid to travel companies.
So yes it is a scam of sorts.
Anybody out there from the States who did get into the London marathon just through the Overseas Entry ballot???
I'm really curious as I want to check off this marathon off my list... I'll do the lottery but I guess I gotta pay the Marathon Tours, as I won't know until fall if I'm in or not:(
Another question: Does it make sense to sign up for Marathon Tours SCC, Seven Continents Club, membership to increase the chances of being accepted into London???
TIA
Think of it more as a tariff on American imports. #M A G A

I've never even HEARD of someone getting into London through the lottery that wasn't a UK resident. I'm pretty sure the London Lottery is a farce!
